Our Team

Awesome people doing awesome science

CURRENT

Eric Asselin, Full Professor
Principal Investigator

Eric was born in the far north; he owes his lovely accent to his origins. Eric loves the Beatles with an intensity that borders on obsession. He also likes craft beer and ribs. He's the man

Sophie Parent, Research Assistant
Lab manager extraordinaire

Sophie is our lab manager and knows everything, therefore making her our one true boss and reference. She loves to clone things and is passionate about wine tasting; she is pretty much awesome.

François Fabi
Ph.D candidate

François is native from Trois-Rivières and works on Par-4 and Akt isoforms localization effects on chemoresistance. He loves craft beer, board games, fountain pens, coffee and pricey headphones; he insists he isn't a hipster. François is young enough to hope to finish his Ph.D soon, but is wise enough to know that hope is a luxury he can't afford on student stipends.

Pascal Adam
soon to be Ph.D candidate

Pascal will soon begin his Ph.D in our lab; after a sucessful master working on the role of Akt isoforms in mice decidualization, he fell in love with our triple knockout mice models and decided to work daily with them for another 4 years. Pascal loves craft beer, Rubik cubes and general piracy endeavors.

Dadou Lokengo
Ph.D candidate

Dadou is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Trained as a gynecologist obstetrician, he came to Canada to increase his knowledge and skills in basic research. He is currently working on the role of Akt isoforms in early ovarian aging in the context of infertility.

Junie Chansi
Ph.D candidate

Junie works on differential expression of genes before and after chemotherapy in the context of breast cancer. She loves cinema as well as iced cappucinos.

Keven Vincent
M.Sc candidate

Keven is the youngest student currently in the lab.

Laurence Tardif
M.Sc candidate

Laurence or better known as Lau, she's new in our crew and kind of indecipherable as well. This blonde chocolate addict girl may look like a tough, altough shy, biologist but when you get to know her, you would be surprised by her smily, friendly, sarcastic and gentle nature.
